If you know me at all, you know I absolutely love fruit. Mango, pineapple, banana, kiwi, berries - I love it all. Smoothie bowls are my go to when I am craving something fresh and fruity. There are also amazing benefits to adding in the spirulina powder. Spirulina is a type of algae that is packed with essential nutrients, including antioxidants, iron, omega-6, omega-3, and vitamins A, B, C, E, and K. It is also proven to help boost metabolism and lower cholesterol. And bonus - it tastes soooo good! You can find it at a ton of natural-food stores, but I order mine on amazon for convenience.
Ingredients
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen mango
2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 tsp spirulina powder
Mixed fruits/toppings
Instructions
1) Prepare your toppings. Whether that means gathering them all together or cutting up whatever fruit you plan to put on top, I just like to do this beforehand so the smoothie mixture doesn't melt too much after I make it
2) Add banana, mango, and almond milk to blender and blend until smooth (you can add almond milk as needed to meet the desired consistency)
3) Add spirulina powder to the mixture and blend until combined
4) This is where you get creative! Pour mixture into a bowl and top with your toppings of choice - I personally like to have at least 2 fruits, granola, and almond butter
Enjoy!
